WHO THIS IS FOR

SM

Owners and managers

who need inventory tracking, reporting IDs and tax status set correctly on each item.

FO

Anyone adding a handful of items

— a new special, a single drink — where scanning a printed menu is more work than typing.

BEFORE YOU BEGIN

Product ID is permanent. It cannot be changed once the item is created, so decide your numbering before you start.

Category is required. If the one you need does not exist yet, you can create it inside the form without leaving the page.

Same steps on both devices. Tablet and phone hold the same fields; only the button positions differ.

THE STEPS

Pick the device in front of you.

Open Items Management

From the home dashboard, tap the More icon — the four squares at the bottom left of the navigation bar — then under Manage Operations select Items to load the Manage Items workspace.

Tap More, then Items.
Tap More, then Items.

Choose Create Manually.
Choose Create Manually.

Fill in the item details

On the Create Item form, complete the four fields that matter, then scroll on to the category.

1 The exact product name, for example Nasi Lemak.
2 Your base retail price. Type 2.00 for RM 2.00.
3 A unique code for backend reporting. It cannot be changed later.
4 Toggle ON (blue) if this item is taxed at checkout.
Name, price and Product ID.

Create and link a category

Check it, then Confirm.
Check it, then Confirm.

Save the item

Review the summary against your own records, then tap the blue Add Item button at the top right. An Item created successfully banner confirms it, and you land back on Manage Items with the new product active under its category.

Open Items Management

Tap the More tab at the far right of the bottom navigation bar, then select Items.

Start manual item creation

Tap the blue Add Item button, then choose Create Manually from the drawer that slides up.

Fill in the item details

Complete the four fields that matter, scrolling down the Create Item form as you go.

Create and link a category

Tap the Category dropdown, then + Add Category. Type the name, tap Confirm, check the new box and Confirm again.

Save the item

Review the summary, then tap the large blue Add Item button at the bottom of the page. After the Item created successfully banner, you are redirected to Manage Items with the new product live under its category tab.

Good to know: Open Pricing

EPOS360 also has Open Pricing, which lets you customise the price of an item at the point of sale rather than fixing it in the menu. Useful for weighed goods, bulk deals and anything you quote per order.

IF IT LOOKS WRONG

The form will not save

Item Name, Price, Product ID and Category are all required. A missing category shows in red as “Category is required”.

The Product ID is wrong

It cannot be changed after the item is created. Create the item again with the correct ID and remove the first one.

The item is not in the right tab

Items sit under the category you linked. Reopen the item, change the Category selection and save again.
